Beverley - 3:10 (10 Aug 2005)

5f - totesport.com Handicap (Class 4) 3yo+

Course Description
Right-handed oval course with a stiff uphill finish of 2½ furlongs. Due to the nature of the course, this track is not really suitable for the adoption of waiting tactics. Form Students should give the claims of course and distance winner’s particular consideration.

Draw Bias at 5f
On good or better going, in races of 8 - 18 runners, the Top 6 stalls won 38 of 45 races 84%

Analysis
I think the bookies have priced this one up correctly in that Artie (given his pace profile) is a worthy favourite drawn in stall 13. Top rated, he has slipped to a handy handicap mark. However, he has not won this year due to the fact he has not had conditions to suit ... ... ... until today!!

As this course and distance winner is drawn in pole position, I shall lump on the jolly (1pt win best price available)

Big dangers and ones that I would consider for forecast purposes are Baron Rhodes (stall 14) and Divine Sprit (stall 12). Baron Rhodes is on an upward curve, runs in his own class and is 1lb above a winning handicap mark. Divine Sprint has competed well in higher grade of handicaps from a winning mark. Dropped in class today a big run is expected.
