Warts and All - Virtual (3rd Dec 2007)

Yep. It’s a virtual world. Decided to heed the advice given to me by an Australian punter (see post below) and I’ve decided to go with virtual bets until I can prove my methods are worth throwing real money at. You can track my progress at OLBG.

The focus is not strike rate but return on investment. Also in reviewing my records I discovered that I’ve fallen fowl of the favourite/longshot bias. In summary I’ve under estimated the chances of favourites/contenders priced 8/1 and below and over estimated the chances of horses priced 12/1 greater. By tracking my pre/post race results against my tissue, I’m hoping to resolve this issue in pre race analysis
