An extremely sharp, left handed course, only 1 mile round: this is a front runner's track where all the racing is done on the turn. The track does not give large galloping types a chance to get into their long strides. Indeed such animals often become unbalanced or run wide round Chester’s sharp left handed bends. Therefore this is a course for specialists

Very few featured in this sprint in which TRINCULO gained his fourth win of the season, all those successes having come over 5f since early June. He did well here as he was drawn wide in stall 11, but overcame that disadvantage with a quick start, and he ran on gamely win all out in a driving finish. He is clearly in good form, and considering his draw, is probably better than the bare form.
Kings College Boy, racing from a 1lb out of the handicap and having his second run in two days, was better drawn than the winner, but he didn't break as well, was always struggling to go the pace but did run on late in the day. He ran up to form, but isn't that easy to win with.
Oceanico Dot Com, also 1lb out of the handicap, made the most of his good draw, but after showing plenty of speed, faded in the final furlong.
Rosein was well drawn, and kept on, showing her best form of the season.
Savile's Delight, who normally blazes the trail, had a first-time visor but missed the break and could never get on terms.
