Course Description
The All Weather fibresand surface is much slower than the polytrack used at Lingfield and Wolverhampton and places great demands on stamina. The course also favours horses that like to race prominently.
Analysis
In a weak contest my two against the field are pace setters Kingston Town and Madiba.
Kingston Town is the only runner at Southwell from the in form Martin Pipe yard. He comes here fit from racing over National Hunt Hurdles and is proven on the fibresand surface. With no distance concerns, and the fact that Martin Pipe doesn’t send many runners to Southwell (2 wins and 1 place from three runs over two years) a competitive run is expected today.
Madiba drops in class and was second at this course last time out over a slightly longer trip. A slight concern that he may perfer further, he is a definite banker if Kingston Town falters at a nice price

DANCE WORLD(1) is clearly in excellent heart and won here with the minimum of fuss. Hardly off the bridle at any stage, he was ridden with bags of confidence and was value for at least double his winning margin, perhaps considerably more. He is worth noting if turning out under a penalty, which will be a lesser amount than the handicapper will put him up in his reassessment.
Kingston Town, who has been hurdling lately, ran a sound race back on the Flat, but had no chance against the easy winner.
