5/1 Supreme Catch, 11/2 Trust Fund, 13/2 He’s The Governor, Cousin Nicky, 8/1 Bay Island, 16/1 On Ya Va, 20/1 Bar
With Aintree on the horizon, I’m going to swerve this race and keep my powder dry. However, Supreme Catch and Trust Fund look the pick of the selections at the prices on offer.
Cousin Nicky is a Novice who is progressing in the right direction, but as a rule, I do not like backing Novices in handicaps first time up. A virtual reverse forecast with the above two just in case I am wrong.
The poor trainer form of He’s The Governor puts me off consideration.
All of Supreme Catch’s wining form is around 2m4f and extremely well handicapped. Trust Fund’s virtual selection is taken on ‘trust’ due to his course and distance form.

Another tough call for punters, and not a bad line-up, quality wise, for the £10,000 prize-money. Three jumped the last in with a chance, and the light weight and 7lb claim of the winning jockey proved decisive. HEVER ROAD's last-time-out third over course and distance was enough to make him a potential danger, and he made the most of the drying ground. He shouldn't be too harshly dealt with by the handicapper.
Top weight Holy Joe's latest sixth of 17 in a better race than this at Newbury gavehim a chance, and he pressed Hever Road all the way to the line. This was a courageous effort as he gave the winner 38lb (including the winning jockey's claim).
Bay Island's last three runs (second the last twice) had been at Leicester, though notably his last victory had come over course and distance. He wasn't beaten far in an attempt for another.
On Y Va looked a solid proposition, with the trip and ground in his favour, and coming here in fine form, though he was facing handicap company for the first time. He plugged on but was a bit overwhelmed by the first three, who cleared away in the home straight.
The main fear for backers of Dealer's Choice was his 420-day absence, as he was solid in terms of ground, trip and form. His trainer, though, had been worried about the track's suitability, and so all in all he ran a blinder.
Cousin Nicky was seeking an Exeter hat-trick, though over a half-mile longer trip in handicap company for the first time. His trainer felt the extra distance wouldn't be a problem, but it proved to be so.
