This is a tough tough race to call.

13/2 My Will, 8/1 Church Island, 9/1 Model Son, New Alco, 16/1 Commercial Flyer

My Will looks opposable. He was noted as taking advantage of his rivals jumping errors in his recent win at Cheltenham. “All Out” at the finish in that race. I don’t think the drop back in trip will eliminate the fact that he carries an extra stamina sapping 6lbs in the predicted soft going and this also looks a tougher event.

I don’t care how well he’s schooled at home, until Commercial Flyer actually does something in a race course chase event he won’t be on my shortlist. Model Son was a distance behind My Will in their Cheltenham race which leaves Church Island and New Alco..

New Alco was noted as “improved for recent reappearance” in his Cheltenham race 27 days ago. 3rd behind a dark horse “Exotic Dancer” that day he is also noted as one that should improve when stepped up to 3m.

Church Island revels in soft ground and has Cheltenham form. If you forgive his poor run in the Charlie Hall at a price this well rated Irish raider may surprise all in what is an open event.

Given that I feel My Will will finish “off the board” therefore the forecast bets should pay well, I’ll use this race to continue with my experiment in exotic betting.
