Lingfield Placepot - 22nd Dec 2007

With a bit of time on my hands and 4 handicaps in tonight’s card at Wolverhampton posing tantalising puzzles and the time of year suggesting that the makeup up the crowd will be numerous Christmas parties, I’ll take a guess that the pot may pay tonight (selections later). To warm up lets take a shot at the placepot at Lingfeld this afternoon.

Per the methods outlined by Barry Meadow and Alan Potts, I’ll use a perm consisting of bankers and second and third choices.

1:00 6f - play golf @ lingfield park selling stakes

IF Atephobia runs up to form he wins, unfortunately he’ll be popular with punters. As this is a 6 runner race only the first 2 places count so will need added insurance of 2 selections in this race which are: Martingrange Boy who is the stranger of the field and Wee Buns who drops back in trip which might be too his liking.

A: Atephobia B: Martingrange Boy & Wee Buns

1:35 5f - cwb controls handicap

Again, another race where the chances of the favourite (Mogok Ruby) look too obvious. Trouble is can’t see passed him for one of the place spots. The consistent and well drawn Desert Opal is also considered for the B perm

A: Mogok Ruby B. Desert Opal

2:10 1m - book online @ lingfieldpark.co.uk novice stakes

Straight shootout between Afram Blue and Call of Duty with the latter marginally preferred.

A & B Perm. Call of Duty

2:40 1m - lingfield park for weddings conditions stakes

Stamina doubts makes me want to oppose Jack Sullivan with Raptor

A&B Perm: Raptor

3:10 1m 2f - jumping here january 4th handicap

The placepot buster race.

A: Greek Easter B: Paradise Dancer & Smokin Joe

3:40 1m 2f - robert leech quebec stakes (listed race)

A: Gentleman's Deal B: Millville

A perm: 1 lines @ £1 line = £1
B perm: 4 lines @ 0.50 line = £2
