Exeter - 1:40 (16 Dec 2004)
South-West Racing Club Handicap Steeple Chase (C ) 3m1f110y
Course Description
A hilly track, this course suits those that take to the severe gradients, therefore past course and distance runners should be respected. Such runners are unlikely to be long striding gallopers who find this course unsettling. The uphill run-in is 300 yards long
Analysis
Another course that favours previous course and distance winners and the confident vote goes to Twisted Logic. Suited to this track he steps up to his preferred distance and matched with his regular conditional jockey (R Walford) he should romp home today.

The pace was only ordinary in this handicap chase and the form is questionable.
MAXIMISE(1) has run some moody races since landing the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir at the Festival, but has edged down the weights and had performed better at Sandown on his latest start. He was able to race closer to the pace in this weaker company and, his stamina assured, stayed on well enough once striking the front.
The proximity of Walter's Destiny at the finish devalues the form as the veteran was 12lb out of the handicap. Driven along from a good way out, he continued to respond to pressure and was closing at the line. He ran another good race from out of the handicap at Wincanton but has not won for more than three years now.
Twisted Logic, who has two previous wins in this event among his five course victories, remains vulnerable from his current mark.
