This was disappointing. When all else were lumping on, I laid essentially the form horse of the race. Dropped in class this was an easy win (or loss for me)

An uncompetitive maiden, won readily by SANT ELENA, who was sent off a warm order on the strength of her debut fourth over course and distance last month. She had to be switched off the rail to get a run, but picked up nicely and was well on top in the last 150 yards. She should get a mile next year, and looks like she appreciates the cut in the ground.
The overall value of the form has to be questioned with Canina, who is rated just 59 after three previous runs in auction events, finishing second.
She was being closed down with every stride by Prince Evelith, who was stepping down in trip after two runs at 6f and was doing all his best in the final furlong.
Makai, the other horse in the race with a handicap mark, in his case 73,was encountering soft ground for the first time and, on a line through Canina, ran some way below his best on it.
