With Kalca Home's jockey in poor form and pace profile (held up), Alymayden's trainer has poor course form so Bleu Superbe is the selection

A good prize and a decent handicap, but a race marred by a fifth-fence pile-up, which saw Town Crier fall, bringing down Roman Ark and Nowator, who was fatally injured.
KALCA MOME, who had given notice that his winning turn was near when third in the Victor Chandler Chase last time, came good here in pleasing style on more favourable ground. Having travelled sweetly through the race, he moved through comfortably to take it up going to the last and then responded to pressure to maintainhis advantage.
Bleu Superbe ran yet another good race in defeat. Having made the running, he was headed by the winner before the final fence, but he battled back in grand style and certainly did not go down without a fight.
The first two came clear of Tanikos, who had beaten the winner last time, but who was no match for him on this occasion.
Of the others, Almaydan never raced with the same zest as did done last time and was unable to strike a serious blow.
