Cheltenham - 9th Dec 2006

12:55 2m - Jenny Mould Memorial Handicap Chase

4/1 Tysou, 11/2 Baby Run, 13/2 Kalca Mome, 7/1 Kelrev, 9/1 Darby Wall, 16/1 Bar

The favourite Kalca Mome is burdened by the poor trainer form in handicaps at Cheltenham over the years. Nigel Twiston Davies’s stable is yet to fire this season but the chances of Baby Run cannot be dismissed. Though not well handicapped Course and Distance Specialist Tysou seems the best suited to the conditions of the day..

2:40 2m 5f - boylesports.com Gold Cup

6/1 Reveillez, 13/2 Exotic Dancer, Taranis, 8/1 Ross River, Cerium, 14/1 Bar

Jockey retention aside a side (AP McCoy) Reveillez is a lively contender on ratings. Not that I should focus on one particular statistic but Tony Dobin’s (rides Exotic Dancer) record at Cheltenham is abysmal. Taranis is bit young on historical stats. The Irish raider Ross River is another who fails statistical trends. Cerium is the stable second string.
