Chester 3:20 - Warwick International Handicap Stakes (11th May 2007)
4/1 Song Of Passion, 9/2 Giganticus, 6/1 Glenbuck, 10/1 Commando Scott, Dhaular Dhar
The ground conditions will have more of a bearing on this race than the draw as there are approx 1½ furlongs before the first turn at 7 furlongs.
Not sure if Giganticus will be suited to the going however more of a concern is that all of his races have been on straight courses which makes him slightly vulnerable in my book. The Hannon and Hughes double act combine for their one stable entry and Song of Silence is expected to run well at a track she’s won on before with ground conditions, low draw (so can bag the rail) and prominent running style to suit.
Paul Hanagan was originally jocked up on Commando Scott , but now rides Glenbuck. 13th in a hot handicap at Newmarket recently Glenbuck will love any softness in the ground and likes to front run.
As there is minimal pace in the race I expect the winner will be Glenbuck or Song of Silence as they can run races to suit but at what price?
