Wolverhampton - 2:55 (3 Dec 2004)
Bet Direct On ITV Page 367 Handicap (E3) 2m½f
Course Description
Early observations (including my own) are that the new surface provides a level playing field with horses winning from a stride or two behind the leaders and from off the pace. In addition as the surface is still riding deep, horses must show ability to last the distance off a strong pace.
With a new surface the draw bias has been debated widely [Racing Forum: http://www.theracingforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard/topic.cgi?forum=15&topic=6482] and is still inconclusive at this time.
Analysis
Weet for Me is the confident selection given that he has all the ticks in the preverbal boxes. Jockey in form, highly rated in the form book, well handicapped, draw not a factor over 2 miles, races up with the pace, tops speed ratings, no distance and going concerns (2nd last two starts at Wolverhampton, won over this distance 1lbs lower than his current mark) and finally this is R Hollinshead only runner of the day. By the way, Mr Hollinshead has the best stats of all trainers in this race. If that is not a tip in itself then I don’t know want is! (Not that I follow tips anyway)
