Wolverhampton - 2:00 (12 Jan 2005)
2.00 Bet Direct On Channel 4 Page 613 Handicap Stakes (F4 )
Course Description
Early observations (including my own) are that the new surface (with the exceptions of races over 5,6,7 furlongs) provides a level playing field with horses winning from a stride or two behind the leaders and from off the pace. Over shorter distances there seems to be a bias for low drawn horses. In addition as the surface is still riding deep, horses must show ability to stay the distance off a string pace
Analysis
An extremely difficult race to call and I’ll side with two selections.
Speedie Rossini (1pt): Well handicapped and from a notorious gambling stable, I’m predicting that the money will be down given the information about this horse from some reliable sources. The big doubt is that he is draw out wide in stall 11
Tashyra (1pt): High on speed ratings and well handicapped. If the low draw bias over 5 furlongs plays true to form the selection should return at a good price.
