Lingfield - 3:00 (17 Dec 2005)
3:00 6f - Littlewoods Betdirect Handicap (Class 2) 3yo+
. Draw Bias at 6 furlongs
In races of 8 - 11 runners, stalls 1-6 won 24 of 30 races 80%
. Analysis
Russian Symphony is a worthy favourite based on the form comments from his last race.
“Was possibly stretched by the very strong gallop over seven at Lingfield on November 19th, can do better back at 6f at Lingfield, although he does stay seven”
(Racing Post)
However, as the draw statistics (www.startingstalls.co.uk) are so strong, of those drawn in berths 1-6
Green Manalishi [1] – statistically berthed in a plumb draw but preference is for 5 furlongs
The Lord [2] – 3lbs out of the handicap
Les Arcs [3] – best form over 7 furlongs+
Fromsong [4] – Possibility outclassed in this company, but speed figures suggest that he is closely matched with higher rated horses. Shown a liking for Lingfield
Cornus [5] – Poor All Weather form this far. Trainer comments suggest fibresand surface should suit.
Lindbergh [6] – Improvement required as well behind Fromsong last time out.
Given the pace in the race I’m hoping that the front runners and main contenders go off too fast to set the race up for Green Manalishi and Fromsong. Big danger is Russian Symphony.
